Peanut Butter Honey Energy Bites Don’t Count for Lent

For Lent this year I was pretty hell bent on not giving anything up. I just had a baby and for 9+ months I had already given up the things I would do for Lent- i.e. wine, coffee, wrinkle cream even though I NEED IT BAD, any gassy food related things, etc. Well then this morning I started feeling like a real A$$hole. I mean I didn’t really give anything up- I had a baby, and well I guess that isn’t fair to Jesus. For a hot minute I thought instead of taking away I would add something to my life, but that thought made me tired. So, I have decided for Lent I will be giving up Cheerios- WITH ONE CAVEAT- I can still have my morning peanut butter and honey energy bites. These babies are a hard nope not giving that up because I physically need them (well more like a mental need – but whatevs). My hubs and I wake up about 5ish – give or take an alarm or two- and do a workout. Back in the day we would take a pre-energy drink. Well the one we loved (E&E by Beachbody) is no longer available, I can’t take anything with creatine (I bulk like a boy- not a good look for me) and well with breastfeeding a pre-workout drink just isn’t an option. So, these lil bites have provided just the amount of sugar needed to bust through an early morning sweat fest and not sure I can go 40 days without that. Granted I could probably figure something out to get the same effect- but then that tired feeling comes back so nope bites are good- fistful of cheerios throughout the day – BAD! Ok not bad- but I go through a family sized box in a week- a week, so this will be difficult for me. My hubs says I will probably channel the crave to raisins- cold raisins specifically- a new fav- but nope I will do one for Jesus and leave those alone too. My hope is that at the end of the 40 days, I can break this habit and save my hubs sanity from not having to pick up Cheerios that I have dropped on the floor! WISH ME LUCK:)

Thank you #tasty for this recipe. It truly is tasty and have gotten me through many a workouts. Though I love the original a new love was formed last week with a lightbulb moment of yumminess. So with that said, here is the recipe for the bites. ENJOY!
